The disappearance of a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer and her young daughter has ended in tragedy after their mutilated remains were discovered inside the residence of a suspected herbalist in an Osun community, in what police believe to be a ritual killing.

Tragic Discovery

The victims, SRC Lasisi Funmilayo Oluwamayokun, a 39-year-old officer serving with the FRSC Abeokuta Unit, and her daughter, Sewa, were declared missing after leaving their home at the Obasanjo Hilltop Estate in Abeokuta on Sunday, November 2, 2025. A formal missing person report was filed on November 5 after family and colleagues were unable to reach them.

Fresh details emerged over the weekend when a source close to the bereaved husband confirmed that the remains of the officer and her child were recovered from the house of a herbalist in an undisclosed Osun community.

Investigation Intensifies

Following the gruesome discovery, police operatives arrested the herbalist’s wife. However, the prime suspect—the herbalist himself—has reportedly fled, triggering an intense manhunt by investigators.

Investigators believe the herbalist played a central role in the deaths, although the exact circumstances are still being pieced together.

The shocking turn of events has plunged the FRSC community in Abeokuta and the victims’ neighborhood into deep mourning. Police are urging anyone with credible information on the whereabouts of the fleeing herbalist to come forward as the investigation intensifies.
