Nollywood actor Taye Arimoro has lodged a formal complaint against actress and filmmaker Peggy Ovire, seeking ₦100 million in damages and a public apology over an alleged assault during a film shoot.

In a petition dated November 18, 2025, issued by Inibehe Effiong Chambers, Arimoro stated that his fundamental rights were infringed upon while working on the production.

He explained that his contractual hours expired at exactly 11:59 PM on November 11, but when he attempted to leave the location, he was reportedly prevented from doing so.

The letter claims that the production manager blocked his vehicle, while another car was positioned at the exit to stop him from driving out. Concerned for his safety, Arimoro began an Instagram Live session to record the unfolding situation.

The matter allegedly intensified at the estate gate, where Peggie Ovire and members of her team reportedly confronted him.

Arimoro further alleged that his tyres were punctured, he was encircled by several individuals, and he sustained injuries such as a fractured jaw, bite marks, and bruises. He also claimed that his mobile phone was interfered with during the confrontation.

According to his lawyers, the incident amounted to a violation of his rights to liberty, free movement, and dignity, resulting in emotional distress and financial loss.

They are requesting a public video apology published across all of Ovire’s social media accounts, in addition to the ₦100 million compensation.

Peggy Ovire has been given seven days to respond, and as of the time of this report, she has not yet issued any public comment.
