Four years after he mysteriously went missing, Shafiu Auwal Ibrahim, a former student of Bayero University Kano (BUK), has been found alive in Kaduna State, where he had reportedly been living with an Islamic scholar.
Shafiu, who was a resident of the Janbulo area in Kano, disappeared in 2021, leaving his family and friends devastated. Despite extensive searches, all efforts to locate him proved futile, and many eventually assumed he was dead.
However, a renewed search recently led his family to discover him in a Kaduna village, living under the care of an Islamic cleric.
A relative revealed that the cleric claimed to have found Shafiu years ago in a mentally unstable condition and decided to take him in.
“He was found in a village in Kaduna with a cleric who said he found him long ago. The cleric explained that when he met Shafiu, he appeared mentally unstable,” the relative said.
The family has since expressed immense joy and relief at his safe return after years of uncertainty. They confirmed that Shafiu is now back home, healthy, and calm, marking a miraculous end to a four-year ordeal.
