Nigerian chef Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, has addressed the wave of criticism that followed her recent public appearance.

The chef, who made headlines in 2023 for attempting to break a Guinness World Record, attended an event where she was invited to give a short speech about herself. However, a video of her address soon went viral, drawing negative reactions and abusive comments from many online users.

Responding to the backlash, Chef Dammy shared another video calling out her critics. She urged them to leave their harsh comments publicly rather than sending her abusive messages in private, emphasizing that her direct messages were not the place for such hostility.

She revealed that some of the insults she received included words like “Werey,” a Yoruba slang meaning “mad person.”

According to Chef Dammy, although such remarks used to hurt her deeply, she has grown stronger and no longer allows them to affect her. She added that those who hurl insults at her only reflect poorly on themselves and their families.

The young chef maintained that she doesn’t believe she deserves the level of abuse she faces online, stressing that she has moved past negativity and is focused on personal growth and self-improvement.
