- A Nigerian female preacher has stirred debate after urging women to protect their husbands’ dignity by not revealing fertility struggles publicly.
- Speaking at a church convention, she advised wives to “cover your husband’s shame” and not announce issues like low sperm count, warning that such exposure “kills a man alive.”
- She, however, encouraged women to continue praying and ensure their husbands seek medical treatment.

A Nigerian woman has sparked conversations online after urging married women to protect their husbands’ secrets, especially on sensitive matters such as infertility.
Speaking during the Annual Women’s Convention of an unidentified church, the preacher emphasized the need for wives to safeguard their homes and preserve their husbands’ dignity. She warned that revealing a man’s fertility struggles could damage his ego and self-esteem.
“Learn how to cover your husband’s shame even before the man. If you notice that your husband is not a man and you’re married or has a low sperm count and you’ve stayed five years without a child, don’t wake up before the public and tell them that my husband cannot produce a child. Take the insult and swallow it. You don’t expose this man, you have killed that man alive if you tell the world that he cannot perform,” she said.
While cautioning against public exposure, the preacher also stressed the importance of seeking medical solutions.
“That’s the highest secret a man has, continue your prayers, believe and trust in God. Tell your husband to go and receive treatment so that one day God will put a smile on your face,” she added.
Her message has since generated mixed reactions on social media.

asa._.nwa stated: “If I don’t cover my husbands shame who will Ehn? My husband is my crown na 😂😂😂 nde agadi na nzuzu 😂.”
zayy_nab1 opined: “As I see their yellow yellow I don know say nah their type dey advice women to kpaii for abusive marriage 😂.”
things_dey_occur said: “I thought she was saying rubbish initially until she said, “Tell your husband to go and get treatment.”
Essentially, all she said applies to both men and women. If either partner is the reason for a fertility issue, don’t go about shaming them in public; protect their secret while ensuring an adequate treatment routine is being followed until the issue is resolved. That makes sense, actually… imagine shaming them only for treatments to cure the problem, and they eventually produce. They will forever resent you, that’s if the marriage doesnt collapse!”
