A social media user identified as Abazz recently reached out to Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, questioning his unusual silence online.
The award-winning singer, who tied the knot with his longtime partner and mother of his children just a month ago in a grand Miami wedding, has noticeably reduced his activity on social media since the lavish celebration. The star-studded event was widely discussed, with pictures and videos circulating for weeks.
Following the wedding, Davido who had only recently concluded his 5ive Tour appeared to step back from posting regularly. Missing his usual updates, Abazz took to X (formerly Twitter) to ask why the singer had been inactive.
In response, Davido reacted humorously, noting that fans would understand his absence once they got married themselves. His comment sparked a flurry of reactions online.
While some fans questioned his explanation, pointing out that he had already been living with Chioma before their wedding ceremonies in Nigeria and the U.S., others playfully speculated that his wife might have “confiscated his phone.”
One married man, however, defended Davido’s statement, explaining that marriage often comes with unexpected responsibilities that singles may not fully comprehend. He admitted that he now does things he once swore he never would before getting married, and believed Davido’s fans would understand in due time.
