A dramatic scene unfolded at Niger Delta University, Bayelsa State, after a female student and a lecturer engaged in a physical fight inside an examination hall.
The clash reportedly began when the lecturer caught the student involved in malpractice and ordered her to leave the hall. She refused, insisting her seized phone be returned first.
Witnesses said the confrontation escalated when the student allegedly smashed the lecturer’s phone, sparking a heated exchange of blows.
In a video of the incident, another official was heard urging the student to exit the hall, but she stood her ground until her phone was released.
Attempts to get the university’s reaction were unsuccessful as management has yet to comment on the incident.
In other news…. A Nigerian man, Chinedu Victor Ogba, has remembered his father, Sunday Okechukwu Ogba, and two siblings, Chigozirim (17) and Eberechi (14), who d!ed alongside four extended family members after eating suya on August 25, 2021, in Umueze Umuakanu, Umuahia North, Abia State.
The deceased persons started vomiting after eating the roasted meat delicacy and d!ed shortly after.
Marking their fourth anniversary, Chinedu wrote on Facebook:
“Today marks four years since I lost my beloved dad and my dear siblings in an unexpected tragedy that changed my life forever. Not a day passes without thoughts of you all. I choose today to honor your lives, the love you gave, the laughter we shared, and the bond we will always carry. Rest on, Dad. Rest on, my dear siblings. Your memories remain my treasure, and I will continue to live in a way that makes you proud.”
The tragedy left Mrs. Jessy Chinonyerem Ogba and her daughter Ijeoma Blessing as the only survivors after being hospitalized.
