Two years after a fire destroyed his Lekki residence, comedian Ayo Makun (AY) has shared a heartfelt message of gratitude and reflection.
In a video posted to Instagram, AY recounted the painful experience, describing how he lost his home, peace, and personal sanctuary in the blaze. “Everything I held dear went up in flames,” he recalled.
Despite the emotional and personal challenges that followed including moments of betrayal AY said he found strength in his faith and remained grounded in purpose.
The comedian has since rebuilt his home, transforming it into a stunning space with marble flooring, elegant staircases, and a unique fusion of Afrocentric and modern interior design.
Appreciating how far he has come, AY described the journey as finding “beauty after ashes,” noting that each setback paved the way for a greater comeback.
The fire, which temporarily displaced his family, sparked an outpouring of support from fans, friends, and colleagues in the entertainment industry a gesture he continues to cherish today.
