Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have stormed into the semi-finals of the 2025 Women’s Afrobasket in Cote d’Ivoire after crushing Cameroon 83-47 in a one-sided quarter-final encounter at the Palais des Sports de Treichville, Abidjan.
The emphatic win not only sealed their place in the final four but also extended their remarkable streak—marking a sixth straight semi-final appearance since 2013.
D’Tigress wasted no time asserting dominance, racing to a 21-9 lead in the first quarter. They held their momentum through halftime with a 41-29 cushion. The third quarter was where they truly pulled away, unleashing a defensive masterclass that limited Cameroon to just two points while dropping 25 of their own. The final period saw them cruise to a comfortable 36-point win.
Amy Okoronkwo was the star of the show, putting up 18 points. Victoria Balogun and Nicole Enabosi each chipped in with 12 points to round off a solid team performance.
