Singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, recently offered some words of wisdom about self-worth and being valued.

In a post shared on social media, the singer advised people to walk away from any space where their efforts are not appreciated.

This came as a reaction to a fan’s comment on X (formerly Twitter), where the user recalled how Mr P was once mocked for being “just a dancer” and “not a real singer.” The fan made the remark under a video of Mr P passionately performing in a studio.

‘’Person wey them talk say him no sabi sing say na dance him dey dance na him come Sabi sing pass .. false narrative”

In his response, Mr P acknowledged the criticism but emphasized the importance of knowing one’s value and leaving environments that fail to offer respect or recognition.

‘’But sadly, most people fall for it. In this life, always know your worth. Don’t settle for less, and never stay where you’re not valued or respected. Respect yourself enough to leave any place where your efforts are not appreciated. #TheyLied”
