Man Raises Alarm Over Daylight Robbery by Armed Herdsmen in Enugu

A Nigerian man has voiced his distress over the growing insecurity in Enugu State, claiming he was recently robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

The man, identified by his handle @carlo_di_wuu on X (formerly Twitter), publicly called out Governor Peter Mbah, accusing him of ignoring escalating attacks allegedly carried out by armed herdsmen in different parts of the state.

Recounting his harrowing experience, he wrote:
“Fulani herdsmen/terrorists came to our crib at Heliu Estate, Enugu, and took away our things at gunpoint.”

He also referenced another tragic event that occurred nearby, where a young man was reportedly killed and his Venza car stolen along Bricks Estate.
“What is the hope of a citizen in Enugu State? Who is the next victim?” he asked, voicing fear and helplessness.

The victim explained that the group of 10 to 15 armed men could have easily taken their lives if anyone had tried to resist.

“Our lives would have been history if these men used their weapons on us, or if we had resisted. What is really going on in our land, @PNMbah?,” he wrote.

Frustrated by the lack of protection from authorities, he hinted at taking self-defense measures, warning that future attackers may not go unchallenged.

“I would have to defend myself against these people, and nobody has the right to question me. If nothing is done about this, the next set of these people are going to meet their creator. I swear on my dad’s grave. 48 hours until I equip myself against being slaughtered 💔,” he added.

His emotional post has since sparked a wave of concern from fellow Nigerians online, who took to the comment section to express their own fears over the rising insecurity and apparent lack of government action in Enugu State.
