Rapper Ladipoe Slams Men’s Awkward DM Pickup Lines

Nigerian rapper Ladipoe has taken a humorous swipe at the awkward and over-the-top pickup lines some men use when messaging women online.

In a tweet thread that quickly gained traction, Ladipoe poked fun at messages like:
“To the bros who slide in DMs with ‘you have an interesting aura’, ‘interesting’, ‘your body is tea’… I’m begging… walk me through the rest of your master plan.”

One Twitter user jokingly replied:
“Your girlfriend don show you her DM screenshots I bet 😂”

Ladipoe didn’t confirm or deny the suggestion, but added:
“My friend showed me her DM and boys just dey shoot shots zero composure.”

His comments sparked plenty of laughs and reactions across social media, with many users agreeing that some DM attempts are downright cringe-worthy.

Some applauded the rapper for calling out the trend, while others shared their own hilarious encounters with bizarre online flirts.

In other news, Renowned music executive and Mavin Records founder, Don Jazzy, has reflected on his career, revealing some of the biggest missed opportunities when it comes to signing talented artists.

In a recent chat, the influential producer shared that he regrets not bringing singers Simi and Teni under his label, despite admiring their talent and work ethic.

“I like Simi. I didn’t sign her. I wish I did. I like Teni. I wish I did,” he admitted.

Don Jazzy also disclosed that he had the chance to sign Davido earlier in his career but decided against it, believing the young artist was already on the path to greatness.

“I had the opportunity for Davido, obviously, but I didn’t because I kind of figured that he would be fine,” he said.

Speaking on his experience with Falz, the Mavin boss revealed that they almost struck a deal at one point, but it fell through before it could be finalized. As for Wizkid, Don Jazzy explained that the star was already signed to Banky W’s label at the time, which ruled out any chance of working with him.

Reflecting on the realities of the music industry, Don Jazzy noted:
“You can’t sign everybody, no matter how talented they are.”

Despite the missed opportunities, Don Jazzy remains one of the most respected figures in Nigerian music, having nurtured the careers of numerous successful artists under his Mavin Records label.
