Nigerian businessman and social commentator Isaac Fayose has sparked reactions online after criticising President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over recent borrowing claims while simultaneously showing off his newly acquired luxury vehicle.
In a video shared on social media, Fayose expressed frustration over Nigeria’s economic situation, alleging that borrowed funds are not translating into visible improvements for citizens.
“Tinubu don go borrow money again, 516 million dollars. All these money, we no dey feel am for street, we just dey see am for paper. People are hungry, everywhere is quiet, even Lagos that bubbles all the time before no longer bubbles, night clubs only open on Friday now. Anyways, VeryDarkMan, come and test drive my new Rolls Royce that just landed,” he said.
The businessman made the remarks while unveiling his brand-new Rolls-Royce, reportedly delivered in Abuja, drawing mixed reactions due to the contrast between his criticism of economic hardship and his display of luxury.
He also extended an invitation to social media activist VeryDarkMan to test drive the vehicle.
The video has since gone viral, with some Nigerians agreeing with his concerns about the economy, while others questioned the optics of his message given the luxury showcase.
