“You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only choice”- Phyna writes as she emerges ‘Celebrity of the Year’

Ijeoma Otabor, often known as Phyna, a Big Brother Naija ‘Level Up’ contestant, is ecstatic as she receives an award.

The reality star put her family issues aside to celebrate winning the Celebrity Of The Year title at the recently finished La Mode Green October event and her new accomplishment.

Phyna posted a statement on her Instagram page on how one cannot truly understand their strength unless it becomes their last option.

“You never know how strong you are, until being strong is your only choice.

In a Twitter post, she appreciated the award organizers for the honor as well as her fans and management.

She affirmed that she is beautiful, will always be, and is doing her best to be better.

“Thank you La Mode mag for the award. Phynation here’s to another win for us, we still gather do dis one. E no easy make I no lie, but we will always come out on top.
Thanks to my management for always doing an amazing job.
I’m beautiful, will always be.
I’m great, doing my best to be better”.

The Award is coming just a few days after Phyna aired her family drama online.

In a recent statement, Phyna’s father, Mr. Felix Otabor, explained how his daughter vanished after winning the N100 million grand prize on the 2022 BBNaija “Level Up” episode.

Recall that when their daughter, Phyna, was declared the winner of the 2022 season of “Level Up,” Phyna’s family had come to the BBNaija set.

Mr. Felix Otabor made it plain that he hasn’t seen Phyna since she won the prize money, according to a Vanguard News report.

His statement: “I haven’t seen Phyna, my daughter, since she won BBNaija ‘Level Up’ edition last year. She hasn’t returned home since then. I don’t know why?”

“I am a professional hearse driver, and when she won the reality TV show, she asked me to do away with all my old cars, promising to change my life.”

“But since then, I haven’t seen her. And I don’t have a car anymore. Once in a while, the Vice-Chairman of our association will allow me to drive his car.”

“I sold all my four cars because at the time, my daughter won the show. I thought that God had finally answered our prayers. I called her on the telephone, and she said God has blessed us.”

“She asked me to do away with all my old cars, or she would give them out to someone, any day she returned. So, instead of allowing her to give my cars to scavengers, I decided to sell them as scraps and used the proceeds to renovate my house.”

“And that was the beginning of my suffering. I stopped doing my business because I had no car again. And my neighbors thought I was either stingy or pretending as if my daughter had just won a N100 million grand prize.”

“I was the Vice-Chairman of our association, but when I couldn’t show up at our station for some time, they replaced me with another person.

“From that moment, things started getting tough for me. I am even looking for somebody who will give me a car on hire purchase. I need help; it has come to that point. I don’t want to die in silence.”

“I only see her on Facebook or Instagram whenever she shares new photos on these platforms,” he said.
