- The land dispute and the soldiers’ presence have sparked public debate while Nigerians await official explanations.

There was serious drama in Abuja on Tuesday after soldiers stopped the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, from entering a piece of land he came to inspect. The incident, which was captured on video and is now trending on social media, showed a heated argument between Wike and the soldiers on duty.
What Happened?
When Wike arrived at the site with FCTA officials, soldiers on the ground refused to let them in. This immediately caused tension, and Wike challenged the officer blocking him.
In the video, the minister said:
“You send soldiers to intimidate who? We are all from this country. If not for the CDS who spoke to me now, you would have to kill everybody here. I’m not one of those that you can intimidate.”
The soldiers insisted they were doing their job, but Wike maintained that nobody had the right to block government officials from accessing land in the FCT.
The Bigger Picture
Wike has been revoking lands and tackling illegal allocations in Abuja since he became FCT Minister. This new clash has now raised questions about:
Why soldiers were deployed to defend a private land
Who gave the order to block the minister
Whether the land was legally or illegally acquired
Nigerians are waiting for an official statement from the Army and the FCT administration to explain what really happened and who owns the land.
For now, the video continues to spark reactions online as many people express shock that soldiers could block a serving minister from accessing land inside the FCT.
