“You Cannot Rule Nigeria by Force” – Arewa Group Sends Message to Tinubu

  • Arewa Advocates has criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over alleged PVC verification plans, describing the timeline as unrealistic and urging respect for democratic processes, sparking reactions online.

A northern advocacy group, Arewa Advocates, has sparked reactions online following a viral video addressing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over issues related to elections and voter verification.

In the video, the group criticised what it described as an unrealistic timeline for the verification of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), arguing that millions of Nigerians would be unable to comply within a short period.

Addressing the president directly, a representative of the group said, “President Bola Tinubu, you cannot rule Nigeria by force, no one will verify his PVC.”

The group further questioned the feasibility of verifying a large number of voters within a limited timeframe.

“Over 150 million Nigerians have obtained their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in the last two years, yet you claim that within less than 40 days everyone must verify theirs. You know this is impossible. Over 150 million people? Impossible,” the speaker stated.

They also emphasised the need for adherence to democratic principles, urging the president to respect the outcome of any future elections.

“Bola Tinubu, if an election is held, you must accept the results,” the group added.

In a strongly worded remark, the speaker concluded, “You would have to eliminate everyone to remain in power, but Nigerians are ready, and we are not afraid of you.”

The video has since generated widespread reactions across social media, with Nigerians expressing differing views on the claims and concerns raised by the group.
