Woman Reportedly Paid Assassins N200,000 To Kill Colleague in Delta

The suspect, Mrs Abebikpeke Alice Tikakeme, was arrested alongside two other persons identified as Ikechukwu Oguma and Seikemieghan Fullpower last Thursday.

A woman who allegedly paid hired assassins to kill her colleague and her son, has been arrested by the Delta Police Command.

The arrest was a joint effort made possible by the Department of State Security, the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Police.

The suspect, Mrs Abebikpeke Alice Tikakeme, was arrested alongside two other persons identified as Ikechukwu Oguma and Seikemieghan Fullpower last Thursday.

One of the suspects, Ikechukwu Oguma, had allegedly confessed, during a cross-examination by security forces that himself, Seikemieghan Fullpower and others now at large were allegedly hired by Mrs Tikakeme, who hails from Enekorogha community in Burutu LGA with N200,000, to assassinate Mrs Anetorufa Morko and her son, Doutimi Eseimo.

The deceased, Mrs Anetorufa Morko and her son, Doutimi Eseimo, were murdered at Ayakoromo community in Burutu LGA on July 3, 2017.

Thereafter, the combined team of security agencies, swung into action to unmask the killers with the eventual arrest of Ikechukwu Oguma and Seikemieghan Full power as well as the alleged sponsor of the assassination, Tikakeme.

Meanwhile, the National President of the Foundation for Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Crusaders (FOHURAC), Alaowei Cleric, (Esq), on Saturday in a statement, has commended the Nigeria Police Force, the DSS and men of the Joint Task Force for taking proactive steps to unearth the culprits behind the alleged murder of Anetorufa and her son.

He, however, urged the police to ensure justice is done to bring the culprits to book to serve as a deterrent to others.

“Now that the suspects are in the police net, we suggest that they should be brought to book according to the laws of the land.

“We have a special interest in the matter and we will ensure that whoever is culpable in the matter will not go free.

“We shall mount surveillance in the process to ensure that justice is done in the matter.

“We will synergize with all relevant authorities for the prosecution of the case including securing legal services for the bereaved family.

“Our primary concern is that let justice be done in the case to serve as a deterrent to others,” Cleric reiterated.
