A Nigerian lady has gone viral after revealing she was charged ₦10,000 for a single cup of green tea at a Lagos restaurant.
According to her, she only ordered tea while out for lunch with a friend, but was shocked when the bill arrived.
“My mouth dropped so much I was hoping the people sitting next to me didn’t see that flies were catching my mouth,” she wrote. “What do you mean you boiled water, put two tea bags, and it was ₦10,000?”
She said she couldn’t complain since she had already finished the drink. “I obviously could not argue with them because I drank their tea. There’s no way to give it back. I had to pay,” she added.
The woman joked that the experience taught her a lesson about dining out. “I should have joined another lady doing a photo shoot. You must use your money and the space well,” she said. “But I didn’t and that’s how I paid ₦10,000 for tea in Lagos. There’s tea at home. This will not happen again.”
In other news… Popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has sparked concern after she broke down in tears in a video shared on Instagram, admitting she was struggling mentally and emotionally.
“I tried. I feel like I’m going crazy, I’m losing my mind, and it’s not making any sense. I’m really crying in front of everybody,” she said tearfully.
The video came a day after she revealed that her once-estranged parents had reconciled for her happiness, adding that they are now in Abuja working to secure her brother Sammy’s release from detention.
“Sammy’s detainment is taking way too long, but we will get him out even if I have to march there myself and create a storm!” she said.
Regina’s breakdown has fueled concern among fans, especially after she hinted weeks earlier that she suffered violence in her marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko — an allegation he denied, claiming she was struggling with “drug and alcohol abuse.”
