- Bukola has alleged that a man she met on Tinder defrauded her of ₦50 million after posing as a successful businessman and presenting himself as her future husband.
- She later discovered his true identity and that he was married with children, sparking widespread reactions online.

A woman identified as Bukola has shared her alleged experience of being defrauded of ₦50 million by a man she met on a dating app, following pressure from her family to settle down.
According to Bukola, her family encouraged her in 2023 to give relationships another chance, warning that remaining single indefinitely was not an option. Acting on their advice, she downloaded Tinder, where she met a man who introduced himself as Alex.
Bukola explained that Alex claimed to be a businessman involved in building and construction, speaking confidently about plans to develop an event centre and a hotel. His persuasive nature, combined with the fact that he openly introduced her to others as his wife, convinced her that he was serious about building a future together.
However, she alleged that after repeatedly giving him large sums of money for supposed business projects, she discovered that “Alex” was not his real name. According to her, his real identity is Bankole Babalola, and the woman he had previously introduced as his younger sister was actually his legally married wife, with whom he has three children.
Speaking emotionally, Bukola said she only realised she had been scammed after all her money was gone. She added that when she confronted the woman involved, the woman initially claimed to be his sister, further deepening the deception.
Bukola also alleged that the man had a long history of defrauding people, dating back to 2012 and 2013. She described the ordeal as one of the darkest periods of her life.
