Eseoghene Obire, widely known as Xxsive and former boyfriend of actress Nkechi Blessing, stirred online conversation after naming Davido as Africa’s biggest artist even though he identifies as a Wizkid fan.
The Nigerian musician made the claim in an Instagram video posted on December 17, 2025, following Davido’s appearance on Carter Efe’s Twitch livestream.
During the broadcast, Davido joined Carter Efe’s stream and helped secure an endorsement deal for the content creator with Martell via a phone call live on air. The event broke records, becoming the most-watched Twitch livestream in Africa with over 80,000 viewers watching simultaneously.
Xxsive praised Davido for his proactive approach and willingness to support others in the industry. He said:
“So, as a Wizkid fan, I’ll say it publicly Davido is the biggest artist in Africa, 100%. He didn’t just show up on the stream; he was making calls, connecting people, and making things happen.”
He also contrasted the two artists’ styles of helping peers in the entertainment scene, joking:
“If Wizkid were in that studio, he wouldn’t call anyone. So if you’re waiting on Wizkid to make moves for you, you might be waiting forever.”
Xxsive even joked about switching allegiance from Wizkid’s fan base to Davido’s 30BG due to Davido’s hands-on support.
His statements, however, attracted mixed reactions online, with some users accusing him of seeking attention through his praise.
