- Nyesom Wike denied that the Kugbo terminal collapsed, stating that the damage was caused by unusually strong winds due to its hilltop location, which he described as beyond normal weather conditions.

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has reacted to reports surrounding the incident at the Kugbo transport terminal, clarifying that the structure did not collapse.
Addressing the situation, Wike attributed the damage to unusually strong winds, which he described as beyond normal weather conditions.
“Kugbo terminal did not collapse. The kind of wind we saw was unimaginable. It is because the terminal is located on top of a hill, higher than other buildings. Something like this has been happening in other countries as well. People should understand this,” he said.
His remarks come amid widespread reactions and speculation about the integrity of the facility following the incident.
Wike’s explanation suggests that the location of the terminal, positioned on elevated terrain, made it more vulnerable to the intensity of the wind.
