Former Kaduna senator, Shehu Sani, has stirred conversations online with his latest statement about Big Brother Naija (BBNaija).

In a tweet that has since gone viral, the outspoken lawmaker advised Nigerian ladies to focus their energy on sports, particularly football, rather than spending two months in the BBNaija house, surrounded by cameras and eviction drama.

“Instead of spending two months in BB Naija with all those cameras and evictions, ladies should just head to the pitch and be Falcons,” Sani wrote.

His comment comes in the wake of the Super Falcons’ historic victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which earned the team national honors and cash rewards from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

While many social media users applauded Sani’s view, seeing it as encouragement for women to pursue more rewarding paths, others criticized it, arguing that BBNaija is also a platform that has changed lives and created opportunities.
