Afrobeats sensation Davido has finally addressed his loss at the 2026 Grammy Awards and shared how his wife, Chioma, responded to the news.
The awards ceremony took place in Los Angeles, with Trevor Noah serving as host. In the Best African Music Performance category, South African star Tyla emerged victorious, surpassing nominees such as Burna Boy, Davido, Ayra Starr, Eddy Kenzo, and Mehran Matin.
Other notable winners included Bad Bunny, who made history as the first Latin artist to claim Album of the Year for Debí Tirar Más Fotos, and Kendrick Lamar, who took home Record of the Year for “Luther,” featuring SZA.
On Instagram, Davido revealed that after informing Chioma about the Grammy outcome, she encouraged him to handle both success and setbacks with grace. He wrote, “I said baby, listen, we lost again. Let’s not go. She said be humble in victory and gracious in defeat. We outside.”
The 68th Grammy Awards also saw Aura V become the youngest-ever Grammy winner. She received the Best Children’s Music Album award for Harmony, alongside her father Fyütch. Aura, who is just years old, surpassed previous record holders Blue Ivy Carter, who won at 9, and Leah Peasall, who was 8 years and 10 months old at the time of her win.
