The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of the United States has published the location of the fatal collision that killed Access Holdings’ CEO, Herbert Wigwe, and five other people.
Wigwe, his wife Doreen, their son Chizi Wigwe, and former Nigerian Exchange Group Chairman Abimbola Ogunbanjo were killed when an Airbus EC130 helicopter crashed near the California-Nevada border at Halloran Springs.
In images released on Tuesday, February 13, two experts from the United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) were seen investigating the ill-fated helicopter’s debris.
Recall that Michael Graham, an NTSB board member, presented an update on Sunday, Feb. 11, stating that they had visited the accident scene and explained the operations carried out on the first full day of inquiry. These included aerial drone mapping, site documentation, and an in-depth inspection of the debris field by the airworthiness team. The debris field was around 100 yards long and comprised all of the helicopter’s primary components, including rotor blades, gearbox, engine, tail rotor, landing gear skids and several avionics components.
The four passengers and two crew members on board the ill-fated helicopter died on Friday, February 9 (Saturday morning, Feb. 10, Nigerian time).
