UNILORIN Approves 14-Day Paternity Leave for Male Workers

According to the University of Ilorin, male employees will now be eligible for paternity leave. The university’s registrar, Mr. Mansur Alfanla, informed reporters of this on Monday.

He pointed out that as part of the efforts to enhance the varsity’s working circumstances, the development complied with the recently modified circumstances of Service.

He claims that male policemen whose girlfriend gives birth have a 14-day leave of absence.

”Paternity leave is for serving male officers whose spouse delivers a baby. The period of the leave shall be 14 working days.

“Where the family of a male officer adopts a child under four months old, the officer will similarly enjoy paternity leave for a period of 14 working days,” Alfanla said.
