Nigerian singer Joeboy has shared his thoughts on the debate surrounding South African singer Tyla’s recent Grammy win.

The discussion erupted after Tyla took home the award for Best African Music Performance at the 2026 Grammys for her hit track Push 2 Start, beating out Nigerian stars including Davido, Omah Lay, Wizkid, Ayra Starr, and Burna Boy.

In an interview with Jay On-Air, Joeboy addressed claims that Tyla was undeserving of the honor, stating that he believes she fully earned it.

“While I personally hoped Davido would win the Best African Music Performance award at this year’s Grammys, you can’t take away what Tyla has achieved. She’s an exceptional artist and put in a lot of effort,” he said.

He added, “People may have their opinions, but Tyla truly deserved the Grammy. I have no issue with her win.”

Joeboy also expressed interest in working with Tyla in the future, commending her talent and professionalism.
