A Nigerian man has sparked debate online after comparing the rising cost of cement across different administrations, concluding that the current government has not performed well economically.

In a viral statement, the man referenced past presidents including Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, Goodluck Jonathan, Muhammadu Buhari, and current President Bola Tinubu.

He outlined what he described as a steady increase in cement prices over the years.

“Under former President Obasanjo, 100 bags of cement was ₦105,000. During Yar’Adua’s administration, it rose to ₦117,500. Under Goodluck Jonathan, it increased to ₦170,000. Under Buhari, it went up to ₦400,000, and today under President Tinubu, it is about ₦1.2 million.”

Expressing his frustration, he added:

“You have to be daft to say the APC government has done well.”

The statement has since generated mixed reactions on social media, with some Nigerians agreeing that the rising cost of building materials reflects broader economic challenges, while others argued that inflation, exchange rates, and global market factors also play significant roles.
