Tobi Amusan Wins Gold For Nigeria In African Games In Ghana

Tobi Amusan, the Nigerian track and field record-holder, won her third gold medal on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

Tobi Amusan won gold in the 100-meter hurdles at the current 2024 All-African Games in Accra, Ghana.

The fastest woman in track and field won the 100m hurdle event for Nigeria at the all-African Games in 12.89 seconds, one of his slowest times.

Tobi Amusan earned her first gold medal at the All-African Games in Brazzaville, Congo, in 2015. In 2019, she earned her second gold medal at an event held in Rabat, Morocco.

Tobi Amusan’s triumph in Accra brings Nigeria’s total gold medal count at the 2024 All-African Games to 31.

So far, the country has 22 silver medals and 32 bronze medals, for a total of 85.

Nigeria remains second in the medal tally at the 2024 All-African Games, trailing only Egypt.

Egypt has 165 medals as of Wednesday morning, March 20, including 92 gold, 40 silver, and 33 bronze.

Third-place South Africa, fourth-place Algeria, and fifth-place Tunisia are fighting with Team Nigeria for second place.

The host country, Ghana, is currently in sixth position, followed by Mauritius, Eritrea, Morocco, and Ethiopia, which complete the top 10 in the 2024 All-African Games medal table.
