- The appointment was announced during the official inauguration of the reconstituted FAAN board in Abuja on Tuesday.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has named Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the new Chairman of the Board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
The appointment was announced during the official inauguration of the reconstituted FAAN board in Abuja on Tuesday.
This new role for Ganduje comes shortly after he resigned as APC National Chairman following internal party tensions and growing pressure.
His swift redeployment has sparked reactions, with many interpreting it as a calculated political decision by the presidency.
As chairman of FAAN, the body overseeing all commercial airport operations and development across Nigeria, Ganduje will be tasked with shaping policy and driving reforms within the aviation sector.
