Following Nigeria’s triumph over South Africa in the AFCON football tournament semifinals, well-known Nigerian musician Timaya took to social media to warn other Nigerians living in South Africa to exercise caution.
Concerns over the safety of Nigerians in the host nation appear to have been raised by the game, which saw Nigeria advance to the finals.
Timaya warns Nigerians in South Africa to exercise caution.
Timaya encouraged Nigerians in South Africa to “just day your day” on Twitter, suggesting that they should stay indoors to prevent any potential violence or altercations that could occur after the football game.
The tweet was sent in response to the football match’s intense emotional atmosphere.
“If you’re a Nigerian and in SA tonight pls just DEY YOUR DEY!,” Timaya wrote.
