Nigerian social media activist VeryDarkMan has visited a dilapidated secondary school in Ahoada West, where a young girl was reportedly assaulted after posting about the poor condition of the school online.

During the visit, the activist highlighted the state of the school’s facilities and criticised authorities for allowing such conditions to persist.

VeryDarkMan also revealed that Nigerian music star Burna Boy, who is from the local government area, had instructed him to begin plans to renovate the entire school.

According to him, the Grammy-winning singer promised to fund the renovation project.

The activist also called out the chairman of the local government, Eugene Chita Epelle, questioning the leadership’s response to the state of public schools in the area.

The visit and announcement have since sparked conversations on social media, with many Nigerians praising the proposed intervention while calling for improved attention to public education infrastructure.

In other news…. More clips from the birthday celebration of former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo have continued to circulate widely on social media, drawing reactions from many Nigerians.

The elder statesman recently celebrated his 89th birthday with a grand event attended by several high-profile guests from across the country.

Among those present was popular entertainer Charles Oputa, widely known as Charly Boy or Area Fada. He arrived at the celebration carrying a golden box, which he presented as a gift to the former president.

Another moment that caught attention online involved legendary juju musician Ebenezer Obey, who was invited to perform at the celebration.

In one of the trending videos, Obasanjo appeared visibly excited when he spotted the veteran singer. He quickly moved toward the stage to greet him and nearly lost his balance in the process.

As he stumbled, his aides and even a cameraman nearby rushed in to support him and help him regain his footing before he continued toward the musician.

After reaching the stage, Obasanjo warmly embraced Obey and brought out a bundle of naira notes, which he handed to the singer as he performed.

The two men held hands briefly while the music icon sang in honour of the former president and celebrated his birthday. Obasanjo also joined in singing for a short moment before stepping away from the stage.

Meanwhile, social media users also commented on the outfit worn by the celebrant during the event. In the video, Obasanjo appeared in trousers paired with a cap commonly associated with the Hausa culture, along with an Isiagu top a lion-head patterned shirt traditionally linked to the Igbo people.

Some observers suggested that the combination of the Hausa cap, Igbo attire, and Obasanjo’s Yoruba heritage symbolised unity among Nigeria’s three major ethnic groups: the Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba.

According to them, the outfit could be interpreted as a subtle message promoting national unity and cultural harmony.
