Nollywood actress Miriam Ogbonna, believed to be related to actor IK Ogbonna, has opened up about some of the troubling experiences she faced during her time in the music industry.

Before transitioning fully into acting, Miriam pursued a career as a singer. She later left music for Nollywood and has since appeared in films alongside actors such as Frederick Leonard and others.

Her revelations came after an X (formerly Twitter) user asked people to share jobs they once had that nearly cost them their lives before they walked away. Responding to the post, Miriam recounted disturbing moments from her time as an aspiring artiste.

She disclosed that on one occasion, while resting in a studio, she felt an unusual touch and realized a producer was allegedly attempting to take advantage of her.

The actress further claimed that a well-known industry figure once pressured her into engaging in inappropriate conduct against her will.

In another incident, she said a producer who had promised her accommodation withdrew the offer after she refused his advances. As a result, she was left with no choice but to spend the night at the beach, where area boys usually gathered.

According to her, the accommodation was revoked simply because she declined to comply with his demands.

Following her disclosure, many social media users expressed sympathy and support. Several commenters noted that such experiences are not unique to the music scene, adding that women who speak up about abuse are often dismissed or branded as bitter.
