Alax Evalsam, the popular fish pie vendor who went viral online, has shared a painful experience that has sparked widespread reactions on social media.

Speaking during a recent interview on the Clarity Zone podcast, the internet sensation recounted a disturbing incident in which he was allegedly assaulted.

According to Alax, a group of men attacked him, tied him up, and subjected him to further abuse.

“One of them stepped out to buy pepper, soaked it in water, and when he came back, they tied me up, lifted me, and poured it all over my body from head to toe,” he recalled during the interview.

He went on to explain that after the incident, he was taken to Eko Hotel where he was instructed to act as though he was signing a document for a photograph.

“They took me to Eko Hotel and spoke with the management there. They told me to behave as if I was signing a document while they took a photo,” he said.

Alax Evalsam first captured public attention with his distinctive chant, “Nawa o, some people dem too do oh,” which quickly spread across social media and made him an internet sensation.

His viral moment eventually led to support from several content creators, including Nons Miraj, who surprised him with a fully furnished apartment along with food supplies, cash, and new clothes.

As part of the gesture, the apartment rent was paid for two years in advance, and Alax also received an initial ₦200,000 with a promise of continued monthly financial support.

In addition, he later secured a partnership deal with Eko Hotel, where he now showcases his singing talent and serves as one of the hotel’s ambassadors.
