- The event took place in Los Angeles and featured top global musicians.
- Nigerian singer Davido was nominated for Best African Music but lost to South African artist Tyla.

Social media personality Abisoye Olukoya Michael, popularly known as Oyemykke, has shared his thoughts on the outcome of the 68th Grammy Awards held in Los Angeles over the weekend.
The ceremony, which drew top musicians from across the globe, saw Nigerian singer Davido, nominated in the Best African Music category, lose the award to South African artist Tyla. The result has sparked widespread discussion on social media.
In a video posted online, Oyemykke repeatedly mentioned Tyla’s name while expressing disappointment over her win. He acknowledged her talent but argued that last year was not her strongest period, unlike Davido, who reportedly delivered some of his best work in 2025.
The commentator also suggested that the Grammy organizers may have intentionally prevented Davido from winning the category.
On the topic of who he believed deserved the award, Oyemykke mentioned that it could have been a moment for Omah Lay to shine, or alternatively, for Ayra Starr to claim the accolade.
He further commented that Nigerian artists who attended the ceremony should return home to Lagos and placed some of the responsibility on fans. According to him, supporters often diminish the achievements of other artists by constantly measuring success based on the number of Grammys a singer has won.
