On Monday, Nollywood actor and politician Kenneth Okonkwo cursed all INEC officials who have ever manipulated elections in favour of desperate and inept politicians in the nation.
Okonkwo, who was commenting on the severe state of poverty in the country, stated that Nigerians did not vote for the current level of difficulty.
Okonkwo was a spokesperson for the Obi/Datti Presidential Campaign Council during the 2023 presidential election.
He said that the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, “technically glitched” Nigerians into their current situation.
The electoral authority used the term “technical glitch” to explain its inability to transfer the results of the last presidential election to its result viewing webpage.
Prior to the election, INEC pledged and guaranteed Nigerians that the election results will be transmitted online in real time.
However, its inability to live up to its own promises and assurances sparked widespread controversy, with many questioning the authenticity of the INEC’s final results.
Okonkwo, a staunch Labour Party supporter, lambasted corrupt INEC officials in a post on his X account on Monday, claiming they have enthroned fellow thieves to inflict agony on Nigerians.
He wrote, “Nigerians did not vote for this level of hardship. This hardship is technically glitched on us by INEC. O’ God multiply hardship and sufferings on INEC officials that have ever rigged elections in Nigeria. They are thieves that have enthroned fellow thieves to inflict pains on us.”
