Veteran comedian Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, or Alibaba, has questioned the arrest of famed crossdresser Idris Okuneye, commonly known as Bobrisky.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended the crossdresser on Wednesday and charged him with six counts of allegedly mutilating the naira.
In response to the development, Alibaba stated that it is unacceptable since they appear to be targeting just women. He remembered how ICPC agents apprehended actress Simi Gold for the same offense and got her conviction.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, the stand-up comic uploaded a video of ‘big men’ spraying Naira at an event and questioned why they were not also jailed.
Alibaba wrote: “And Bobrisky was arrested for what again? Because they are men? This is not right. The other time one celebrity lady was sentenced for this same thing. Now, EFCC has arrested another lady for the same thing that men get away with. The way we treat women in this country is not good. Mennnnnn… I just tayaaa.”
