Pastor Jerry Eze, founder and lead pastor of Streams of Joy International, has firmly stated that his work in ministry is a calling from God, not a professional pursuit or a means of personal gain.
In a heartfelt conversation with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Eze expressed deep conviction about his purpose, warning against turning spiritual leadership into a self-serving profession.
“I’m not a professional pastor. The day I become a professional pastor, let God kill me,” he said passionately.
“The day it ceases to be about God and becomes about Jerry, let God shut everything down.”
Despite his rapid rise to prominence and global recognition especially through his viral “NSPPD” (New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations) livestreams. Eze maintained that he never planned to be in the spotlight.
“I didn’t plan to be here, this is not something you plan that at some point you’re going to be big and the world will hear of you,“ he explained.
“I know what my assignment is. I know what God has called me to do, and it has consumed me.”
Pastor Jerry also highlighted that his greatest source of encouragement is not fame or approval, but the life-changing experiences and testimonies he receives from his congregation and online audience.
“I don’t care what anybody thinks or feels. The encouragement for me comes when I see those smiles and hear those testimonies,” he said.
Eze’s words reflect a deep-rooted humility and commitment to spiritual purpose, setting him apart as a pastor more focused on impact and divine mission than public acclaim.
