Cardi B has spoken out amid a high-profile paternity case involving her boyfriend, New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

During a recent Instagram Live session, the rapper who recently announced she is expecting a child with Diggs appeared to address a woman who claims Diggs fathered her baby. Cardi opened her remarks with a playful nod to Shirley Brown’s 1974 classic Woman to Woman, saying:

“Hello Barbara? This is Shirley. That’s your baby daddy? That’s my baby daddy too. What now? I don’t know we’ll figure it out.”

Many viewers interpreted the comment as a direct message to social-media influencer Aileen Lopera, known online as Lord Gisselle.

Background on the Lawsuit

Court documents show that in December 2024, Lopera filed a petition in Los Angeles Superior Court, naming Diggs as the father of her unborn child and requesting full legal and physical custody. She also asked that Diggs cover all medical and legal expenses and be limited to visitation rights.

Her daughter, Charliee Harper Diggs-Lopera, was born on April 2, 2025.

In a formal response submitted in July 2025, Diggs said he was “not certain” he is the father and requested a DNA test. He added that if paternity is confirmed, he intends to seek joint custody.

Growing Public Attention

The story gained further traction after TMZ published video allegedly showing Diggs leaving a New York hospital in August 2025 with a baby carrier. An unidentified woman was seen in the front seat of the SUV. Lopera’s attorney, Tamar Arminak, clarified to Page Six that the woman was not Lopera and that no car seat had been provided to her client.

“My client looks forward to the day Mr. Diggs finally meets, acknowledges, and supports the infant daughter they share,” Arminak said.

Just one day after the footage surfaced, Diggs went public with his relationship with Cardi B, adding to the social-media buzz.

Current Status

Diggs, who already has a daughter named Nova from a previous relationship, has not publicly commented on the paternity case. Meanwhile, Cardi B’s pregnancy announcement and her tongue-in-cheek response have kept the couple in the spotlight as legal proceedings continue.
