Tochi Okechukwu, widely known as Tochi from Nigerian reality TV, has criticized the Federal Government’s recent decision to appoint Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly called KWAM 1, as an aviation security ambassador.
Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, Tochi expressed concern over the move, highlighting how many individuals may have faced wrongful punishment in the past simply because their stories did not gain traction on social media.
According to Naija News, he described the appointment as troubling and questioned how someone previously accused of obstructing a plane’s takeoff could later receive such a prominent role.
He wrote: “From this airline situation, just imagine the number of people that have been wrongly jailed or persecuted just because social media didn’t carry their story… just imagine. An ordinary civilian prevented a whole plane from taking off, and you made him aviation security ambassador. That’s a new low even for us.”
This statement follows the Federal Government’s reduction of KWAM 1’s flight ban from six months to just one month. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) also revealed plans to collaborate with him in promoting proper airport security measures.
