Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has confirmed that Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo will soon join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking with journalists at the National Assembly, Kalu described Soludo as “a progressive like myself, President Tinubu, and the Senate President.”
He added, “Soludo is a progressive. He will come to APC. In fact, it is confirmed that he will join APC. He has no other alternative.”
Kalu dismissed claims that the APC pressures politicians to defect, saying, “Neither I nor other senators, the Senate President, or President Tinubu have ever forced anybody to join our party.”
He noted that Soludo’s move reflects the APC’s growing influence nationwide, adding that more governors may join soon.

Human rights activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has urged Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to run again in 2027, saying he must not take the “easy way out” by becoming Atiku Abubakar’s running mate.
Adeyanju wrote on social media: “Obi must be on the ballot in 2027; I want to check something. It’s Obi or nothing in 2027. He must not get the easy way out by becoming Atiku’s deputy. He can do it all by himself with his obidient mob. Go Ekuke FC, go.”
His post quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions.
