Solomon Dalung Predicts President Tinubu’s Defeat in 2027, Calls for Opposition Unity

Former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung, has predicted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be defeated in the 2027 general elections, regardless of any alleged attempts to influence the outcome.

Speaking in an interview on New Central TV, Dalung expressed strong dissatisfaction with the current administration, accusing it of causing hardship for ordinary Nigerians.

According to him, the Tinubu-led government has created widespread suffering by deepening poverty and inequality, while also enabling corruption and impunity.

“Nigerians should prepare for 2027, because the battle line has been drawn. The current administration has made life extremely difficult for citizens and has not addressed key issues facing the nation,” Dalung stated.

He emphasized the importance of unity among opposition parties, calling for them to rally under the ADC coalition to mount a serious challenge to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“The only option now is to align with the coalition movement, reposition ourselves, and work together for the 2027 elections,” he added.

Dalung maintained that Tinubu’s defeat is certain, even if loyalists were to occupy critical positions in institutions like the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) or the judiciary.

“Even if all 36 governors join the APC, and President Tinubu’s family members head INEC or the judiciary, he will still lose in 2027,” he asserted.

He concluded by urging Nigerians to be fully prepared for the next elections, describing them as a crucial moment in the country’s democratic journey.

The ADC coalition, recently launched as a political platform for opposition figures, includes prominent leaders such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi, all of whom have expressed interest in contesting the presidency in 2027.
