Actor Ibrahim Chatta Opens Up About Losing Daughter Due to Financial Struggles

Ibrahim Chatta, recently shared his perspective on whether smoking cigarettes should be considered a sin, offering a candid and reflective response.

According to the Nollywood star, while smoking may not be directly mentioned in religious scriptures, it can still fall under actions that are spiritually questionable.

“If someone asks me, ‘Is smoking cigarettes a sin?’ I would say it’s a sin but it’s not explicitly mentioned in the holy book. God doesn’t want us to do things that may later harm us,” he explained.

Interestingly, Chatta admitted that he smokes himself. However, rather than defending the habit, he emphasized the importance of acknowledging the truth.

“I don’t want to justify it because I do smoke cigarettes, but the truth has to be said: whatsoever that can influence or intoxicate you is a sin,” he added.

His remarks have sparked conversation online, raising a broader question about personal responsibility and faith:

Do you think actions like smoking even if not specifically stated in religious texts can still be considered sinful based on their potential harm?
