“Save The Children”- VeryDarkMan Appeals To Tinubu Over Oyo School Kidnapping Crisis

  • Nigerian commentator Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), urges President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and security agencies to act on kidnappers’ demands.
  • His call comes after a new video surfaced online showing abducted schoolchildren and teachers still in captivity.
  • The victims were taken over three weeks ago during a violent attack in Oyo State.

Nigerian social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and relevant security agencies to urgently respond to the demands of kidnappers holding dozens of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.

His appeal followed the circulation of a fresh video online showing some of the abducted victims still in captivity, more than three weeks after they were taken during a violent attack.

The incident, which occurred on May 15, 2026, has continued to spark nationwide concern over the safety and whereabouts of the children and their teachers, who remain in the hands of the abductors.

VDM’s reaction was also triggered by a separate emotional video featuring Rachael Alamu, the principal of Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle, who appeared in captivity calling for urgent intervention.

In the video, she urged authorities to engage the kidnappers in dialogue and dismissed several claims circulating on social media about the group’s demands.

She clarified that contrary to widespread reports, the abductors were not asking for money, weapons, or the introduction of Sharia law, but were instead demanding the release of certain individuals held in correctional facilities.

Reacting to the disturbing development, VDM, who had earlier raised concerns about similar attacks, took to social media to express his frustration and appeal directly to the President and security chiefs.

He stressed that saving the lives of the abducted children and teachers should be the government’s top priority, urging authorities to explore all possible options to secure their release.

“For the sake of those poor innocent children, please President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all service chiefs consider the request and let those kids return to their parents,” he wrote.

The mass abduction reportedly took place when armed men stormed three schools in Oriire Local Government Area during a coordinated morning raid.

The affected institutions include Community High School, Baptist Nursery and Primary School, and L.A. Primary School.

Reports say about 46 people were kidnapped in total, including 39 pupils and students—some as young as two years old and seven teachers.

Public outrage deepened after a separate video allegedly surfaced showing the killing of mathematics teacher Michael Oyedokun while in captivity, with another teacher also reportedly killed during the attack.
