A dramatic confrontation erupted after a sales representative allegedly used N1.2 million meant for a staff contribution scheme to pay for a tummy tuck (cosmetic surgery).
The incident was captured in a video shared on social media by the user @dammieadenuga.
According to the shop owner, she had started the contribution scheme specifically to help her workers improve their financial lives by using the funds to set up businesses or investments. However, immediately after the first sum of N1.2 million was raised and handed to the sales rep, the employee used the money for the cosmetic surgery instead.
The businesswoman was seen raging at her employee in the video, criticizing her choice to prioritize surgery over financial independence.
“What happened to this tummy now?! Are you not beautiful like this?!” the boss was heard yelling. She added that she had repeatedly told the employee her stomach wasn’t big, stating, “Any man that is dating you and tells your tummy is too big, he doesn’t love you. He would love you the way you are…”
