Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has opened up with new allegations against her colleague Mercy Johnson, claiming that the star prevented her from landing a movie role during a critical point in her career.
Speaking in relation to the recent arrest of Angela Okorie, Ogala recounted an incident from 2012, saying that actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri informed her that Mercy Johnson had refused to participate in any project that included her.
Ogala stated that Kadiri relayed Mercy’s position directly, explaining that she would not be part of the film if Ogala was involved, and insisted that the message be passed on personally.
The revelation reportedly left Ogala heartbroken, prompting her to break down in tears. She recalled that Ruth Kadiri’s mother offered comfort and prayed for her, assuring her that the situation was not a reflection of her worth.
According to Ogala, she later confronted Mercy Johnson over the matter in a phone call that turned heated. Since that exchange in 2012, the actresses have not interacted face-to-face, except in instances tied indirectly to industry events.
Ogala also touched on a more recent incident involving Regina Daniels’ brother, Sammy, which she noted brought renewed public attention to the longstanding tension.
Neither Mercy Johnson nor Ruth Kadiri has publicly commented on Doris Ogala’s claims as of this report.

“In 2012, I was the hotcake in Lagos, shooting back to back from Asaba to Lagos. Kadiri wanted to use me in her movie. Ruth told me that Mercy told her that if I was going to be in her movie, that she will not play the role. And that Mercy told her to tell me that. When Ruth told me that i started crying. It was even Ruth’s mom that started praying that God has not condemned you. At that point I collected her number and called her and called her names. Since that 2012 till Regina Daniels’ brother Sammy matter I and Mercy haven’t seen one on one.”
