A retired nurse has stirred concern online after making comments about the health condition of popular Nigerian gospel artist, Nathaniel Bassey, urging the public to pray for him.
The development comes shortly after the singer revealed during the Hallelujah Challenge that his wife had experienced five miscarriages in the past.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the nurse, identified as @Jenny86753, claimed that Nathaniel Bassey might be battling an undisclosed illness but continues to serve God faithfully through his ministry.
“Pray for Nathaniel Bassey. It’s clear he is unwell, yet he’s pressing on in victory. In Jesus’ name, amen,” she wrote.
In a follow-up post, the nurse thanked those who joined in praying for the gospel minister, describing Bassey as “a blessing to the world” and expressing faith that he would appreciate the prayers of fellow believers.
“Thank you all for lifting Nathaniel Bassey in prayer. I’m certain he’s grateful for the love and intercession from his brothers and sisters in Christ as he continues the Hallelujah Challenge,” she added.
Meanwhile, Nathaniel Bassey was among the Nigerian entertainers who recently mourned the passing of renowned clergyman Uma Ukpai, who died at the age of 80. Details surrounding his death have not yet been made public.
