“Respect Means Nothing Among Women”- Lady’s Views On Marriage Ignite Online Debate

  • A Nigerian lady has initiated an online discussion about differing perceptions of respect between genders in relationships and marriages.
  • She believes that men are more likely to respect boundaries, particularly regarding married women.
  • In contrast, she suggests that women may be more prone to engage with married men.

A Nigerian lady has sparked online debate after sharing her thoughts on how respect is handled differently by men and women, particularly within relationships and marriages.

She expressed the view that men are more likely to honor boundaries, especially when it comes to married women, whereas women may be more inclined to approach or engage with married men.

In her words:

“Men respect men more than women respect women in marriage; men don’t tend to move to married women the way women tend to entertain or move to married men. Respect holds no value among women.”

She also questioned the common perception that men are inherently selfish, suggesting that women can display similar behaviors but often evade accountability.

While acknowledging that both genders have flaws, she insisted that respect is more consistently observed among men.

“Everyone is out for themselves. We love to say, ‘oooh, men are selfish, men are this.’ Women are the selfish ones, and they are those things they say men are. With men, respect holds more among them, and I will give them that,” she added.

Her remarks have elicited mixed reactions online, with some agreeing with her perspective while others argued that respect and loyalty are traits determined by the individual, not by gender.
