- Reekado Banks, also known as Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon, has recently discussed his disagreement with Wizkid, a renowned musician.
- The interviewer raised questions about Wizkid’s 2020 attack on Reekado Banks, leading to some revelations in a podcast.

Nigerian music sensation Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon, popularly known as Reekado Banks, has opened up about his past rift with fellow superstar Wizkid during a recent podcast interview.
The conversation revisited the 2020 incident when Wizkid lashed out at Reekado online, calling him a “fool” and a “clout animal” after the singer announced plans to release their joint track Omo Olomo amidst the tense #EndSARS protests gripping the nation at the time.
Reekado, now 31, reflected on the backlash, describing it as an unpleasant experience. He revealed that he initially advised against releasing the song due to the sensitive national climate, but his management insisted otherwise.
In his words;
“Not the nicest, especially considering I didn’t want to put the music out. I had urged my management at the time not to put it out, but they were convinced that it wasn’t a problem… It was so bad at the time. I was able to move on from it.”
When asked if he regretted the decision, Reekado didn’t hesitate to say yes. He admitted that the incident taught him to stand firmer in his convictions.
“Absolutely. So there is not much that I am convinced to do these days that I do not do,”
The interviewer also asked whether the two had spoken since the incident. Reekado disclosed that Wizkid recently visited his restaurant, and they had a candid discussion about the issue.
“Recently, he came visiting my restaurant. We had a little talk, and he was a little regretful about it. He was like he shouldn’t have gone that route. He mentioned his behaviour towards Don Jazzy as well, and he was like we are three people in the game that have only recently lost our moms. He feels sorry about the time and it’s good now.”
