In other news….A Nigerian man has gone online to seek ₦35,000 to pay his mother’s hospital bill after losing ₦45,000 to sports betting.
Sharing his plea on X, user @thomsincruz23 begged for urgent help, saying his mother’s life was at risk if the bill wasn’t paid.
He wrote: “I don’t know what to do now. I just lost 45k to gambling today. Now I can’t even pay 35k for my mom’s hospital bills. I can’t even go to the hospital right now and my mom is dying. Somebody please help me, I don’t want to lose my mom.”
The post drew mixed reactions, with some sympathising while others criticised his gambling habit.
