Police Confirm Stun Gun Possession by Pastor Paul Adefarasin

The Lagos State Police Command has opened an investigation into Pastor Paul Adefarasin, founder of House on the Rock Church, after a video emerged online showing him holding a stun gun during a roadside altercation.

Following the video’s circulation, Adefarasin voluntarily appeared at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja on Tuesday, where he was questioned by detectives.

According to a statement from the police, the item seen in the footage was recovered and confirmed to be a stun gun a non-lethal self-defense device, but one still considered illegal for civilian possession under Nigerian law.

“The item recovered was a stun gun, not a firearm, but it remains a prohibited device under current regulations,” the police stated.

During questioning, Pastor Adefarasin gave a cautionary statement. He was later granted bail, while investigations into the circumstances of the incident continue.

The video in question, captured by a Lagos-based content creator known for showcasing luxury vehicles, showed the pastor involved in a verbal confrontation while brandishing the device, sparking concern and debate on social media.

Authorities have urged the public to stay calm, assuring that the matter will be handled in accordance with the law and due process.
